Incentive!

This weekend is another opportunity to visit my studio during the Mountain Maryland Art Sale and Tour.  It will be the last open studio of the year for me.  The weather looks much better this weekend than last, and I thought these photos might encourage a drive through our county.   We're open 11-5 Saturday and Sunday.  Hope to see you!

An Enjoyable Workshop with the Western Maryland Watercolor Society

Workshops are a lot of fun, and a valuable time for artists to spend together improving their craft.

Last week I had the opportunity to direct an artist's workshop of "Watercolor on Canvas" sponsored by the Western Maryland Watercolor Society. This was a two day event in LaVale, Maryland and there were fourteen enthusiastic, talented painters involved.

This approach to watercolor was a "bit out of the box" for these painters to quote Sue Arnson; but, what might have been new to them didn't stop them from turning out some incredibly advanced work.

My thanks to the sponsors and all the participants...particularly to Bobbi Cropp and Nancy Hamilton who knew how to "ring the bell" calling the session to order.

Reason #5: Visit the Loft Shop

Reason #5 to attend the Mountain Maryland Art Sale and Tour:  While making your way through Western Maryland up to the studio, you'll have a opportunity to stop at The Loft Shop, home of Sue and Alan Arnson (#5 and #6 on the Tour).  Sue works in watercolors and mixed media and Alan is a woodworker.  They are a delight to visit with and will have great work on display.  Don't miss this stop on the tour.
